11U: Learn to Swim and Play
2023-24 Information
LEARN TO SWIM & PLAY WATER POLO WITH OUR 11U PROGRAM
For kids born in 2013 and younger (usually equates to kids in Grade 5 and lower).
This is our introduction program and is ideal for athletes who are still developing their deepwater swimming skills.
We place a lot of emphasis on teaching kids all of the basic swimming strokes so that they can be safe in the water and take full advantage of the sport.
Approximately half of the time is spent on stroke technique and correction (i.e. learning to swim) while the other half is developing Water Polo skills and playing games.
Once athletes can swim freely in the deepwater, they will be encouraged to do most of the practices in the deep end.

11U are athletes born in 2013 and younger (2013, 2014, 2015, ...)
FREQUENCY
1x to 2x/week for 1-Hour/practice

COMPETITIONS
No formal competitions, although we do play some exhibition games in the Winter Session (Jan-Apr 2024).
Some 11U athletes are invited to play games with the 13U program.
SESSIONS
Fall Session: late September to December (10-12 weeks)
Winter Session: January to April (15-16 weeks)
Spring Session: May-June (8-9 weeks)
FEES
Program Fee: $150-$225 (depends on how many classes are provided in a session)
Association Membership: $20.29 for a Water Polo Canada and Manitoba Water Polo Association annual Introductory Membership (membership is valid from Sep 2023-Aug 2024).
